Half a day for me

So RMATS was gone for the night, as he went to his parents' to pick up his suit for an upcoming event. Anywho, I stayed here with our dear Admiral, as it would've been a bit of a hassle to move him around just for one night.

So what's a girl to do when she's alone for half a day?

Well, first i found myself cleaning and doing laundry and doing all sorts of house-keepingy stuff. Sheesh, is this away to have quality time with yourself? Perhaps not, but then again twas pretty nice when everything was all nice and neat.

Then I shaved my legs and painted my nails.

I headed to the shop, and bought some Bachelor-Chow -a just-add-water pasta-meal, which claimed to have a flavour to it, but they all pretty much taste the same anyway. Then the rest of my night was spent playing with Admiral, and knitting a pink scarf while watching Commando. Balanced things out nicely.

Twas a good day =).

Hamstertastic!

Yessirree, me and RMATS decided to get ourselves a pet, namely a hamster.

So now we're the proud owners of Admiral Chewie Hunkster, a grey-haired bundle of cuteness.

We've already had a minor incident in the kitchen involving a roaming hamster, a newfound hole in the wall, and the battle to retreive said hamster from mentioned hole. We're fine, hamster's fine, hole's fine, kitchen wall... well, nobody'll notice the slight mark.

But still, so far so good.

Mmmm, new-year-y goodness...

Hello hello to you all out there, it's been a while again, hasn't it. The new year is upon us, and looks alrighty so far.

So, what did I do last year?

January - studious stuff, nothing much, getting ready to start panicking about going to Barcelona.
February - left for Barcelona, arrived there on valentines day. The next few months were quite smashing indeed, and I ended up finding a really nice house full of wonderful people. Lots of dutch.
March - still in Barcelona, RMATS came for a visit. Twas a fun week.
April - BCN still
May- BCN still, little brother came for a visit. Twas a fun long weekend =).
June - Back in Finland in time for my brother's graduation. Sniff, all grown up now.. Did some minor touring around Finland visiting relatives and such. Me and RMATS were very inseaparable for a bit there.
July - Back in Freezerville, and off to work, got me a summer job at a day care centre, kept me busy for the month.
August - no more work, visited my folks in the south of Finland again, had a small gathering, slowly getting ready to go back to uni again. Started one of my pracs
September - did one teaching prac, caused a bit of stress that one, though it was only for a couple of weeks. Organisation just didn't work quite as it should have..
October - some prac stuff, halloween party, going out a bit, normal stoodent life, generally.
November - Started my final prac, woohoo!
December - Finished my final prac, double woohoo! Also xmas, relatives, new year, that sorta stuff.

Also there has been a bit of a down to the start of the year - my aunt who's been ill with cancer for the last few years passed away earlier this week. She had a few good years even with the disease, but in the last couple of months things just deteriorated. She was 70, and really cool. If there is a heaven, hers would have a garden to potter about in, and lots of cats to pet.

Anywho, here's to the new year. A few good things are already in the making - a friend's baby on its way out, the wedding of the decade in a few months (not mine), and perhaps I'll even start my thesis. Should start doing something about that one soon..
